The system behind the quiz

The Data Compass Code

Four bearings, sixteen places to stand

Your Data Compass Code — DCC for short — is four letters, one per axis. Each axis is a genuine fork in how people work with data, not a spectrum of better and worse. The four together resolve one-to-one onto an archetype.

Read in order: craft, then temperament, then audience, then horizon. BOMN is a Builder who works with Order, for Machines, about Now.

The four axesOne letter each

Four forks in the road

Twenty questions, five per axis. Whichever pole you lean toward sets that letter, and the four letters together name your archetype.

Which one are you?

Twenty questions, each one a choice between two options. It takes about three minutes and ends with your four-letter code and the archetype behind it.

The sixteenTwo cuts per role

Every type has a golden pair it clicks with, sharing your audience and horizon but flipping your craft, and a polar opposite it clashes with on all four axes. Both are mutual, so if you click with them, they click with you.
